I’ve spent most of my life learning how to connect things.
As a military brat, I moved constantly – state to state, country to country – growing up in different places and around different kinds of people. Later, in college, I spent nine months as a foreign exchange student in Romania. While all that moving didn’t always leave enough time to build lifelong relationships, it taught me something that has shaped everything I do today:
I can almost always find common ground with people.
Maybe it’s because I’ve lived in so many different worlds, but I’ve developed a habit of seeing connections others miss – between people, between ideas, and between opportunities.
That instinct eventually became my business superpower.
For more than a decade, my wife Rachel and I have built our life – and our business – working together from home in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. She’s my business partner, my best friend, and honestly one of my favorite people to simply spend time with. A big part of why I do what I do is simple: I want to build a life that gives us freedom. Freedom to provide well for our family. Freedom to give our kids memorable experiences. Freedom to travel, explore, and enjoy life together.
Professionally, I help people see their businesses differently.
I think strategically and systemically – often spotting patterns, bottlenecks, and opportunities that others don’t see yet. I love helping business owners simplify what feels complicated, connect the dots faster, and find smarter ways forward. I care deeply about both academic intelligence and practical wisdom: understanding how things work and knowing how to make them work in real life.
Outside of work, I’m a lifelong collector and storyteller.
For more than 40 years, I’ve collected Pepsi cans – at one point nearly 600 of them. Recently, I sold part of the collection and started turning it into a book. That probably says a lot about me. I love preserving stories, organizing ideas, and turning passions into something meaningful that can be shared with others.
Whether I’m writing articles, creating podcasts, helping businesses grow, or documenting unusual pieces of history, I’m usually doing the same thing:
Finding hidden connections.
Making ideas clearer.
Helping people see possibilities they hadn’t noticed before.
That’s what I enjoy most.
