Video Riser: Making Videos Available for Rent or Purchase

Our friend Derral Eves put out a video on this topic to which I didn’t feel the need to remake it. You should probably know about Derral anyway. He’s a YouTube scientist. Since this concept is so new, I thought I better add some background information to make it more understandable.

So first of all the idea of this is similar to Amazon Instant Streaming. Pay $1.99 and you can watch a movie, an episode of The Walking Dead or a documentary. It just so happens you can do that on YouTube as well. And now we can ask that of our audience, too.

Here are a couple screenshots so you can see what the finished product looks like. You can see in the first image the price tag in the top left before you can watch the video. And in the second image the price tag under the video on your channel list page:

The only other thing that the video doesn’t show is that this option isn’t available if you have fewer than 1,000 subscribers to your channel as shown here:
