We find most companies are just overwhelmed with all the shoulds. You should have a blog, a podcast, Instagram, email, Facebook, Google Ads, an app, Shopify, a free ebook, TikTok, a funnel . . .

To some degree that's like saying you have to have a baseball, a basketball, a kickball, a tennis ball and bocce balls to play in the backyard.

What You Do Need is a Really Smart Plan

There is definitely an art and a science to creating a complete online marketing strategy, but success requires both focus and discipline. It requires building traffic paths, creating messaging, architecting sales funnels and follow through.

You have to be willing to "miss out" on all the things you don't include in your plan in favor of focusing on your goals.  It's like picking a family vacation, if you go to the mountains you'll miss out on the beach.  But you can have the absolute most amazing memories when you make the mountain trip amazing.  

We need to create a complete online marketing strategy, and not worry about the shiny objects that pop up everyday.

Building it out!

  • PART 1 - We start by determining who your audience is, what they really need and where they are. For instance we find Facebook groups, favorite authors, relevant YouTube channels, traditional magazines, forums, live events, etc. . . And then we create a strategy to reach them using those and other online tools.  
  • PART 2 -  We then build out where we are sending this traffic. It's not enough to attract them, for those who are open to our messaging we need to be able to reach them again. If you think in terms of an exhibit at a Fair. If you're selling chocolate covered strawberries and 300 people stop by your booth drooling with excitement, but we only capture the email address of the 10 buyers. What about the rest? What are the chances we would make sales if we could reach the rest just before Valentine's Day?  Christmas?  New Year's Eve? We need to capture the interested.
  • PART 3 - This is going to sound really strange (after that example above), but some businesses spend more time on content than they do on creating products/services that will help their audience. That's a huge part of the success of this program. If your "product" is a fantastic cup of coffee at your coffee shop, then we got something to work with. If it's an outdated book . . . we probably need to create something. 
  • PART 4 - When we build an audience or community, we know the bond is that common interest. For plumbers and their customers, the bond between them is making sure the home is running well at all times. For coffee shops the bond is the experience of coffee. No matter Who Your Company Is, you and the community share a bond. We need a system that turns this one coffee purchase, this one plumbing repair, this one sheet music download into long term income.

What Tools Do We Use? 

We start with every online tool there is and then whittle it down to the ones that make the most sense. TPT, Instagram, Aweber, LinkedIn, Spotify, Huffington Post, Homeschool Bloggers Network, Podfest, a Wordpress Plugin, EventBrite, Pinterest, Today Parents, Flickr, Twitch, GoHighLevel, HeyGen, Facebook Groups, Fiverr, Screenr, Kindle, CityLifestyle Magazine, eBay, Bluesky, Shopify, Etsy, Talkwalker, Bing, Google Search Console, YouTube Shorts, Discord,  . . . the tools available are endless.

The question is how do we create a program that brings the exact buyer to your business? What tools do we utilize to achieve that goal, and later "What tools can we add??" 

Which goes straight to the idea of how do we increase online income?
